BOTTLE SHOCK

Have to say, I was really quite impressed with this little movie. It was a feel good picture... a very light drama-comedy with a well put together cast and based on an inspiring true story. If you enjoy drinking wine you should watch this movie tonight.

BANGKOK DANGEROUS

When a friend and I watched the trailer for this movie we laughed and joked about it quite a bit. So when the movie came out for rent we both had no desire to watch it whatsoever. After a few months passed by we thought okay lets give it a try... and we were both actually pretty shocked on how well this movie was made. So if you have been putting this one off, give it a try.

FLASH OF GENIUS

It's all about giant greedy corporations that a normal person has no chance of going up against when they steal someone's ideas and dreams. This is an surprisingly excellent flick for all to watch. Go pick this one up today!

DUPLEX

Here's a comedy that will make you laugh. Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore are the stars. It's one of those stories where you just can't seem to get anything done because of someone unexpectedly keeps showing up and finally they hit your last nerve. If you're looking for a good lightweight comedy to watch this is a decent choice.

LAKEVIEW TERRACE

This is what it says on the back cover of this DVD case: "A TENSE AND EXCITING THRILLER YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS. SAMUEL L. JACKSON IS AT HIS MENACING BEST." Are you kidding me, it is no where near either tense or exciting. Jackson has been in a lot of far better movies. If you've watched the trailer, well then, you've basically watched this entire movie. Don't bother wasting your time with this one. Someone got paid well - wonder who?

DEATH SENTENCE

Speaking of tense and exciting movies, here's one you actually don't want to miss - it keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the end. Might be a bit much for some viewers because of some brutally violent scenes and strong language. But it is one of those type of movies where one might think what he or she would do if something happened to a family member and knowing who was the one responsible and how the law punished the crime.

RENAISSANCE

I am pretty sure a lot of people have missed out on watching this movie. It's animated, but not like Disney/Pixar movies - it's very different and often uses just three of four different colour palettes throughout to create a unique feel. It stars the voice of Daniel Craig and it's a sci-fi action thriller. You'll have to check it out for yourself... it's pretty amazing the way it's made and the storyline of the movie is fantastic.

NOTORIOUS

This movie really surprised me it was quite well made and the actor that plays Notorious B.I.G (Jamal Woolard) did a amazing job.  I would put him up in the running for best actor in the next Academy Awards. No joke for real - it's a phenomenal performance. The rest of the cast did a good job as well. Definitely give this one a try - it won't be a waste a time and the worst you might think is the movie was 'just okay'.

THE AIR I BREATHE

Put this one on your list, it's not to be missed. It threw me off guard as I didn't think it was going to be that good of a movie - maybe average - but it turned out better than average for sure. Has quite the cast for a low budget movie so if you like those 'thinking type' of drama movies be sure to watch this one.

BLACK BOOK ('Zwartboek')

If you like to watch foreign movies you should check this one out.  I wasn’t much into watching foreign movies because of reading the subtitles but now I have to say sometimes I'd rather watch one of these over a Hollywood movie just because the foreign movies are more real and the Hollywood ones just too over the top with stuff. If you know what I am talking about you'll understand what I'm trying to say. But anyways for viewers who like to watch foreign movies put this one on your list of movies to watch.

APPALOOSA

If you are looking for a great movie you must watch this western. Just keep one thing in mind - it's a western so it's not going to be fast-paced but at the same time it's not slow either. Put together very well it keeps you interested right to the end. I'm not big on western movies but I loved this one. I would recommend Appaloosa to anyone who is looking for a movie with a good story to it and with a little action that's not taken too far like some movies these days.

RIGHTEOUS KILL

Here's a solid drama starring De Niro and Pacino. A lot of people were pretty mad when this movie didn't really have much action to it. The trailer threw this movie off by making it look like a big time shoot-em up. But having these two veteran actors in a movie like that at the age they are now - well, would you really want them to do stunts like they were still in their prime? If you ask me that probably would have ruined this decent movie. So check it out and see for yourself - I think you'll be surprised.

TRANSSIBERIAN

This is one of those sleeper hit movies that are not to be missed. Stars Woody Harrelson and Ben Kingsley. It takes about a good thirty minutes to get into the movie but once things start to happen then this drama-thriller keeps you wanting to know what might happen next. Movies like this one make you think about what you shouldn't do when you meet a stranger, especially on a long train trip in an very different country.

THE HAPPENING

Directed by M.Night Shyamalan and that tells you a lot about what you can except from this movie. I have to say that it's a pretty good movie but it can be slow in some parts. Mark Wahlberg sure plays his character really well, but I've never seen him act like he does in this film so it seemed weird to me. It was almost like he was high or something. But if you've been hesitating over whether to watch this one, well don't. It's different yet decent.

DOOMSDAY

Looking for a movie that has lots of gory scenes and brutal violence? Well this one has it all. Actually I have to say it also has a good storyline and is action-packed all the time. Man, you won't doze off watching this one... I'd be pretty shocked if someone could even blink during this movie. Though I could see someone turning it off because they couldn't handle the gory scenes. Other than that it's well worth watching.

DECEPTION

Want to watch a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat? This erotic thriller will just do that. It takes about forty minutes into this movie for the shit to start hitting the fan. Seems like the film isn't going anywhere for quite awhile but then wham it takes turn after turn after turn. If you enjoy watching suspense thrillers you might want to put this one on your list.

UNKNOWN

I was actually surprised by this film. It's one of those movies where you'll be shaking your head thinking 'what the hell is going on?' Even if you've never heard of this movie well maybe you should just give it a try. I think you won't be disappointed!

FRACTURE

Damn, this movie was amazing. If you haven't watched Fracture you are missing out on a truly great film. Sir Anthony Hopkins stars - need I say anymore? And ladies, the star of The Notebook, Ryan Gosling, is also in this movie so you might want to watch it just because of him!

THE DEPARTED

2007's Best picture of the year. This ones got an all-star cast with one hell of a story to it. Looking for a good cop/gangster movie? You won't regret watching this movie.

SUPERBAD

You simply just have to watch this movie. Superbad is so freaking funny that I had to pause it repeatedly to get a hold of myself. This movie truly is hilarious - a good funny, not that bullshit trying to be funny crap. You'll want to watch this movie over and over again.

HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG

If you are looking for a very solid Oscar-worthy movie well this is the one to watch. It is a very powerful drama that is very real. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat, and you'll want to watch it to the very end.

HARD CANDY

Don't be fooled by the cover of this movie. It is not a horror flick. To me the cover throws it off but definitely one of those sleeper movies that you don't want to miss out on. If you are a parent you should watch this movie an eye opener. Once you have watched this movie you might want to put a parental lock on the computer.

THE CONDEMNED

I have to say I am a fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin and this action movie that a WWE star made had a very good story line to it. If you ever watched the trailer you might have been like oh another wrestler making a movie nothing but just shoot'em up blood and gore. I was sort of that way to until I watched the movie and was pretty impressed with it. If you are looking for a good action movie that will keep you entertained, well - this is the one.

MADE

If you like Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn well you have to check this comedy out. It is so funny that you will have to go back to the scene and watch it over because you missed it laughing too hard. They both work very well together just like the movie Swingers.

SAVING SILVERMAN

Guys ever had a controlling girlfriend telling you what you can and can not do. Well here’s a real funny comedy to check out. It's got a very good cast in it, will definitely make you laugh, and even bring back memories if you relate to the movie in some way.

MATCH POINT

This one here is a bit slow but you don't want to miss it either. Takes about 20 minutes to get into the movie and once the movie catches your attention you won't want to miss the ending. This one keeps you guessing right to the end. Looking for an excellent sexy drama thriller? Then this is one to consider.

THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED

All those parents out there looking for a movie to watch with their kids well here's an excellent movie to watch with the kids. You absolutely can't go wrong with this one. It has the kid from the hit movie Transformers - Shia Labeouf - and if you liked him in Transformers you don't want to miss him in this movie as well. For all you golfers out there check this flick out you'll love it.

DEATH AT A FUNERAL

Here's a British comedy that is so funny. Have nothing else to say but for you to go watch it and judge for yourself.

THE ILLUSIONIST

If you like a movie with good twists and turns and you like the actor Edward Norton go check this great flick out. This has a bit of everything in it from drama, suspense and romance so guys looking for a film that your partner will also enjoy and score those points well go rent this movie today.

GONE BABY GONE

This is a movie you don't want to miss out on. Crime drama directed by Ben Affleck. I know what you are thinking the guy can't act so how can he direct a movie. Well he did it with this movie. This movie will make you think about what you would have done if you were in that person's shoes. I highly recommend this movie and you won’t be disappointed that's a promise.
